A national networking event in London on 9 March 2011 at the Business Design Centre, Islington.

This free networking event is structured with opportunities to meet peers and specialist exhibitors from health and learning providers and awarding bodies.  It will be a unique multi-sectoral, market-place style event designed to help delegates to identify practical strategies, resources and partners and hear about good practice examples.

10.15 am Keynote: The importance of SRE and sexual health services for young people aged 16-19
10.30 am Understanding the work-based learning environment
10.45 am Sharing good practice 1: A case-study from the Premier League Apprenticeship Programme
11.05 am Sharing good practice 2: A case-study from Brook Wirral
11.30 am Coffee break
11.45 am Small group activity to facilitate networking, idenifying achievements to date (in providing SRE and sexual health services for young people attending Apprenticeship and Foundation Learning programmes), to identify practical challenges and explore how these can be addressed

Pariticipants will have the opportunity to:

  • get a detailed understanding of the opportunities in Foundation Learning and Apprenticeship programmes to promote SRE and sexual health
  • find out about sex and relationships-related accredited qualifications from Entry Level 1 to Level 3 and meet a range of awarding bodies
  • sample interactive teaching and learning resources suitable for use with young people aged 16-19
  • hear from real case-studies about effective partnerships between health and learning providers
  • reflect on practice locally and identify actions going forward
